Neal, Stephen and Omar call in from all points on the map to debate comic book movies and fantasy series
There’s a new Spider-Man movie in the theaters, maybe you’ve heard about it? Our podcast host Neal Pollack is a believer, and he tries to talk a skeptical Stephen Garrett into believing as well. This is actually one of the best comic-book movies in years, because it contains a substantial Hulk fight, and lots of comic-book side characters doing comic-book side character things. Come for the banter, leave educated about why comic book movies still have a future.
Omar Gallaga joins Neal from the wilds of Montana to talk about the new season of House of the Dragon, which is better, at least somewhat, than the old season of House of the Dragon. It’s still a bit muddled, and, as Omar points out, there’s no actual novel on which to base the show, so it sometimes reads like notes that someone turned into a screenplay. But still, in a summer low on appointment TV, you have dragon fights, and we shouldn’t discount that.
