Book and Film Globe counted Johnson’s novel The Loop as one of The Most Anticipated Horror Novels of 2020, describing it as “Alien meets World War Z” for its plot in which a “group of teenagers tries to survive the night after a biotech experiment goes haywire.” Johnson’s breakthrough novel was Skullcrack City‘; other books include Entropy in Bloom.
